The International Conference on the European Electricity Market - EEM is a premier forum to discuss the development of the energy sector in a market environment and the creation of the common European electricity market.

It has achieved a considerable success during the past four editions covering the electricity and gas markets policies and experiences, climate change impacts on the sector and developments at the European level.

The EEM 08 - 5th International Conference on the European Electricity Market will be held in Portugal, Lisbon 28-30 May 2008, with IEEE/PES co-sponsoring and intends to expand even more its scientific and international scope.

The unique design of the conference comprises two days of plenary sessions with keynote speakers from the main European institutions, market agents and prominent academics. The third day focuses on the latest academic research with paper presentations and discussions.
